The Bojangles Secret Show is free to Bojangles students age 18 years old and younger, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. We encourage all Bojangles students to take advantage of this rare opportunity to sit at the feet of two masters.
About Verlon Thompson
Listening to Verlon Thompson tell or sing a story is a transcendent experience. He takes you to Greasy Bend, Oklahoma, to hear his mother Darwettia’s mandolin, and to a pawn shop for an encounter with fate. And his guitar playing? That’s a trip of its own––a mind-bending exploration of what wood and steel strings can sound like in the right hands. Known and loved by many as Guy Clark’s longtime guitarist, co-writer, touring companion, and friend, Verlon has written songs that have been recorded by Guy, Jimmy Buffett, Alan Jackson, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sam Bush, Kenny Rogers, Trisha Yearwood, Del McCoury Band, and so many more.
While his virtuosity with music and words is remarkable, it’s Verlon’s demeanor that may leave the most lasting impression. He is confident but humble, sometimes quiet but always easy to hear. Earnest, perceptive, funny, and five steps ahead, he is captivating, whether he’s on a stage or not.

About Shawn Camp
A prodigy who never knew how to be anything but, Shawn Camp moved to Nashville at 20, and found early gigs playing with the Osborne Brothers, Jerry Reed, Alan Jackson, Shelby Lynne, and Trisha Yearwood. Shawn released his first solo album, Shawn Camp, on the Reprise (Warner Bros.) label, but found his biggest success as a songwriter, penning hits for Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, Josh Turner, Blake Shelton, George Strait, and many others. He became a trusted collaborator of John Prine, Loretta Lynn, and of course, Guy Clark, with whom he wrote constantly, and toured occasionally.
When Guy won a Grammy in 2014 for his final album, My Favorite Picture of You, Shawn took home a statue as one of the record’s producers. In 2015, Shawn took home another Grammy, this time, as lead vocalist for bluegrass supergroup the Earls of Leicester. Shawn released acclaimed album The Ghost of Sis Draper in 2025.
